5/5 Stars: The Forest of Adventures #1 review by Erin Danzer:

An amazing, beautiful tale. Katie John proved herself to be a fantastic storyteller as she took the world of King Arthur and wove it around and into the life of seventeen-year-old Mina Singer. Beautifully crafted, the prose is engaging and the characters are solid.

5/5 Stars: The Forest of Adventures #1 review by Marissa @ goodreads:

This story will charge into your heart and leave you breathless and waiting for the next book in the series. As with all Arthurian Legends have ever done, this one made my heart bleed and ache! I cheered the heroes, laughed, boo'd the villains, and also wanted to comfort and console the characters when they needed it.

Katie painted a vivid picture of Arthurian knights and ladies with a new contemporary setting. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in book two.

Immortal Beloved #2 review by Amy Leath: 5/5 Stars

OMG!! Finally!!! Loved it!!! And yet again I am left waiting for the next book!!! So VERY good, Mina and Blake's story is better than Edaward and Bella...LOL!!!

5/5 Stars: Immortal Beloved #2 review by Cheles Bells. "This book was amazing!

Their journey is a frightening yet riveting one. I found myself distrusting even the most devoted and honorable characters at some points in the story. The twists and turns made this a fascinating and enthralling tale. Then there is the cliffhanger - Oh my Knights of the Realm, what an ending! I need the next book NOW!

"The book is filled with other sentences that carry a beauty beyond the realm of mere words."
by Suzanne @Goodreads. June 2011.

I was instantly ensnared by the first two sentences. “Sleep is for the innocent. For the guilty, the night is a time when we are fearful prisoners locked tightly behind heavy eyelids.” The book is filled with other sentences that carry a beauty beyond the realm of mere words. John uses fantastic metaphors throughout her story, some of which were beyond exquisiteness, such as “I felt like a doll, beautiful, but hollow.” The writing style is also poetic, and does a nice job of painting the story.

Obviously, everyone will love Blake, of course. He was made to be loved. I mean, seriously, he is a knight in shining armor, with all the virtues you would expect from one. What isn’t so obvious is every character is loveable, in some way, right down to the evil and conniving Morgan Le Fay. There were real moments where I felt strong connections to the characters.

What? Seriously? That was the end? That’s just mean! And then to give me a little taste of the beginning of book two, why? You’re torturing me here!
Yes, this book was really good. This is [...] the first book in a Trilogy, and I hope I don’t have to wait long for the next two books. If I do, I think I just might go insane. I HAVE to know where this trilogy will end!

The Plot Sparkles...

... and it is totally enchanting and magical, sexy and dark and really original. The story is one of true and forbidden love.
The characters are simply wonderful. They have depth and I found that I came to care about them as if they were real and as if they were my friends.
I loved the fact that this isn't an American book. It made such a wonderful change since most of the young adult paranormal romances around today are American. So with this book being British I found I was able to really relate to the life of the high school. The common room in the book could have easily been my common room at school for example.
I couldn't help grinning my way through this book because I could relate to so much. I felt like I was actually there inside the book because of how well I could connect to it.

4/5 @Magic Of Reading March 2010

It is a beautiful love story and yet a tragic story about brothers, jealousy and a woman named Morgan (Who I guarantee you will hate from the first second you meet her!) The love triangle between Sam, Mina and Blake isn't your usual sort and I was intrigued by how the story was told. As for the actual romance, it was beautifully told.

I have just read your book and............ WOW! First of all as a English 17 year old, it's such a releif to have references I understand, like the "freedom of wellies" and 6th form colleges, insted of American freshman and such.
I have completly fallen in love with all your characters including Morgan, espcially after the Merlin series on BBC ; its great how everything relates but changes in the Realm to the Real world!
I LOVED IT and cannot wait until august!!

Four 5 star reader reviews in two days! Feb 7th 2011

Heather @goodreads rated 5 sar The Forest of Adventures is the first book in the Knight Trilogy by Katie M. John. She is a new young adult author and I have to say that this was an exquisite first look into her writing.

The Forest of Adventures starts out with a preface that is as mesmerizing as it is horrifying. The first paragraph grips the reader and does not let them go easily. It really opens up the reader to the rest of the story and if the reader pays close enough attention while reading the preface and the end of the story mostly come full circle.

The Forest of Adventures had exquisitely written words that were so descriptive that the reader could feel that they were there. Each chapter, paragraph or sentence had it's own beauty that it was simple to get swept away in the story of Mina, Blake and Sammy

"You've  got yourself an amazing story!"
Review @ the AnaRissa Chronicles. Jan 2011

In reading this I found that Ms. John took a fairly well known plot, and added just enough details to make it come alive once more. Let's face it, there's only so many times one can read a story about a girl who realizes that her life is not what she wants it to be, but once you throw in a knight, Arthurian legend, a life-or-death major dramatic question, and Morgan Le Fay, you've got yourself an amazing story!
Now, for Blake. Oh, dear Blake, how I love you. Handsome, honorable, romantic, brooding, how can one not be completely enchanted by him? With the character of Blake I particularly loved how Ms. John made the knight-in-shining-armour persona into the actual character of a knight...

Christmas flurry of stars on Goodreads and a glorious 5 star review. Dec 23rd 2010

Dec 17, 2010 Alyssa Salcido rated it  5.0/5.0 Wow. This book was extremely impressive, and I love, love, love, love, LOVED it. Absolutely amazing ...  I adored the deep, fluid, and eloquent writing style of the author. Not only was the story beautiful, but the details were enchanting. I don’t usually read every detail in books, but this book was the exception. I enjoyed every detail and read every word. I really loved the style of writing and the fascinating characters used in the book. Not only was Mina strong-willed, but a bit sassy and sweet. Blake was strong, brave, and good-hearted. I love these two together...I am addicted.

Another 5 Star Reader Review @ Amazon. Dec 11th 2010

Prepare for an Adventure!, 11 Dec 2010 By  Finklestein - : 5/5  The Forest of Adventures (Knight Trilogy) (Paperback) As a teacher, with a great deal of experience of teen fiction and teenagers, I think this book is totally on the pulse of the current teen market. It is also perfect for those of us who have not entirely left our own teen fantasies behind. I love the way the author has weaved together some of my favourite poetry and mythology with a very modern set of circumstances. Very British circumstances as well; which makes a welcome change to the recent glut of American high school fantasy. I got completely immersed and finished the book extremely quickly. Luckly for me there are two more to go.

I'm a massive Twilight and Hush Hush Fan but I've kind of exhausted reading about Vampires and angels. I was looking for something different but just as gripping and hot and I've found it. I loved this book. The pace is really good, a real page turner and I found myself completely immersed in the Arthurian world. Blake Beldevier is gorgeous and is a definite book crush....

5/5 review @ Clover Hill Book Review  Nov 21st 2010

This book is packed to the brim with Arthurian legends, something that I really enjoy, and is beautifully descriptive from the outset. I felt the anticipation as the storyline unfolded, not knowing what was to come.  The characters are really well presented.  I like Morgan for her wickedly sinister, corrupt and menacing character, very well penned... I found this to be a compulsive read, it's fairly fast paced, for me the book heralds a natural storyteller, and the research that's gone into shines through each page.

Review by Fiktshun Nov 15th 2010

"A new Young Adult author in the urban fantasy genre hailing from Middlesex, England, Katie John is a beautifully expressive and unique voice in the YA universe...

Author Katie John has created a tale that weaves together the lives of a modern day heroine, Mina Singer, with a Knight of The Realm from the time of King Arthur, Blake Beldevier. And though the story speaks of Arthurian legends, Merlin and times of sorcery and magic, it is not mired in the weighty details typically used to create medieval tales, reading more like a fairytale.

The Forest of Adventure is set in the modern day, with elements of fantasy just hinted at early on, only coming to the forefront midway through the story. The pace is unhurried, allowing the author to reveal the details in wonderfully descriptive, poetic and often achingly beautiful passages."
